The Basic Element Group is the investor in several infrastructure projects in the City of Sochi in preparation for the 22nd Winter Olympics and 11th Winter Paralymic Games in 2014. The projects include:
- Cargo District at the Sochi Seaport in the Mzymta Estuary
- New passenger terminal and finger with ten telescopic gangways at Sochi International Airport
- The "Sochnoe" project in the Adler district of Sochi, including the construction of the Main Olympic Village and an extensive, modern tourist zone
- A state-of-the-art solid household waste treatment complex in Sochi
The projects are being carried out in accordance with the Program of Olympic Venues Construction and Development of Sochi City as a Mountain Climatic Resort, approved by a Russian government decree (#613) of July 27, 2009 December 29, 2007.
Basic Element Group companies are also contractors for Olympic facilities like the Kurortny Prospekt Relief Road in Sochi from the M27 Dzhugba – Sochi highway to Zemlyanichnaya Street; and a two-level interchange between Makarenko and Plastunskaya streets (lower ramp). The Group’s companies are also upgrading a byroad from the intersection at the Stadion sports complex to the bridge over the River Sochi at the Krasnodar Ring, and are carrying out work on engineering fortifications for the Imeretinskaya lowland.
All of Basic Element’s Olympic project designs and construction are being carried out on schedule.
