There have been numerous stories in the Russian and international press regarding an alleged offer from PPF Investment to buy the controlling stake of Ingosstrakh from Basic Element. In meetings with PPF and public statements to media, we have repeatedly made clear that we are not interested in selling the stake, but are ready for cooperation and a potential strategic partnership to strengthen Ingosstrakh's market position. We are perplexed by our Czech partner's persistent attempts to conduct negotiations through the media and would advise journalists to take a critical approach to any stories regarding such "offers".
