"China Aluminum Presents Foreign Opportunity", Op-Ed by Oleg Deripaska in The Wall Street Journal

China now boasts by some measures the second-largest economy in the world. Undoubtedly, the country today is the ultimate driver in Asia and is a key player in the global economy. And in coming years it will play an even more significant role. So it is understandably tempting to view the country as an unbendable force of nature, especially when it comes to manufacturing, and especially in heavy industries that depend on the ability to mobilize large amounts of capital and large numbers of workers. Yet this image is deceptive. As my own company has found, China presents opportunities for foreigners to supply it in these areas. The key is to find the right ways to take advantage of those opportunities.

Oleg Deripaska companies and Norinco announce the signing of MoU on strategic cooperation

MOU signed by CEO of En+ Group and Basic Element Oleg Deripaska and president of NORINCO Zhao Gang outlines the cooperation in mining and metallurgical projects and vehicle production. This MOU extended the cooperation between Oleg Deripaska companies and Norinco which was initiated by RUSAL in November 2009 by signing the agreement to supply of 1.68 mln tones of aluminium.

BasEl’s agro-business to double net profit in 2010

Basic Element's (BasEl) agriculture division, which was created following the transfer of Russo-Asiatic Investment Company (RAINKO - which managed Russian businessman Oleg Deripaska's assets) into Deripaska's holding, which plans to post 270 million rubles in profit compared to 143 million rubles in 2009, BasEl's managing director, Andrei Oleinik, told Interfax.
